ABOUT THIS FAIR:

Penman Antique Fairs open the autumn regional fairs calendar with the Petersfield Antiques Fair, 6-8 September 2019.  Consistently popular for more than 45 years the fair has a good mix of exhibitors showing a range of traditional town and country furniture, Mid Century design. No datelines but all exhibits vetted for authenticity and correct labelling. Around 40 exhibitors including LAPADA members which makes up an impressive list of dealers for a provincial fair.

New exhibitors for this fair: W.R. Harvey, Witney – fine period furniture. Well-known specialist. A&S Thompson, silver and tortoiseshell, Ellis Fine Art, Yorkshire – fine paintings and furniture.Berlin Walls with works by the art Walter Lidner (1936-2007). Leslie Blackford Antiques, London - 18th century small furniture, boxes & objets d'art. How Odd (Melanie Caswell). A limited edition bronze figure of a beautiful young woman, cold painted in variegated brown and highlighted with gilding, signed Erté, dated and numbered. (Erte Sculpture by Romain de Tirtoff – Erté) c1980. Price £6850.

Harvey Antiques - A Regency games table, c 1815. Price £2950

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

New exhibitor W.R.Harvey Antiques will show a set of Regency mahogany chairs, a fine William and Mary/Queen Anne period small oak escritoire with secret compartments and an elegant George III period mahogany longcase clock made by Lott Barwise of Cockermouth.

For the collector, of Art Nouveau and Art Deco bronzes and glass Hickmet Fine Art will provide an enticing visit. Look out for European porcelain figures and designer costume jewellery from Twentieth Century Glamour and further collections of traditional Georgian and Victorian furniture and paintings from Melody Antiques and Wilsons Antiques from Worthing, fine art galleries Michael St John with traditional English watercolours; Ashleigh House, specialising in British and European oil paintings, and Stuart Boyd with marine art and landscape watercolours. Pottery and porcelain from a range of famous factories is strongly represented by Jupiter Antiques, David Scriven Antiques, Bottlebrook Antiques and, with English pottery in particular, Roger de Ville. Mark J. West specialises in British and European glass. Shine on Design will be showing Art Deco furniture and lighting. Not Wanted on Voyage will be returning with a collection of Mid Century and decorative antiques including lighting and collectors' objects.
