THE DEALER OF THE YEAR AWARD AT HENLEY DECOR FAIR APRIL 2023. ANF is delighted to annouce that our choice for Dealer of the Year at Henley Decor Fair is King George Antiques!!
ANF is proud to sponsor the The Henley Decor Fair Antique Dealer of the Year Award 2023. Each year The Henley Decor Fair recognises those dealers who go above and beyond with awards for Outstanding Achievement, Best Stand, Best Display and Best Newcomer. The Dealer of the Year Award, sponsored by ANF, has been added to this stellar list of awards for April 2023. The very popular awards scheme means that exhibitors pull out all the stops, saving their best stock for the event and creating truly inspiring stands and stunning displays. The awards ceremony took place on Saturday night 15 April 2023 at the Henley Decor Fair and was presented by the organiser Gary Wallis. The ANF award winner was judged on the merits of being a hard working family antiques business. We felt that this family pull together to represent their business at fairs and on-line and from our experience we know they look after their clients and represent the industry in a positive way at all times. The public at large are larely unaware of how hard antique dealers work - up with the lark to travel hundreds of miles every week both in UK and EU, in search of the right stock. Setting up at fairs around the country, putting on a show and a smile like troubadors of the trade. There have been tough times for everyone recently and the trade has suffered the additional hazard of Brexit which has impacted on many businesses in our industry. Dealers have ploughed on regardless and enterprising members of the trade have found solutions to the EU import customs trials and tribulations so that they can keep on trading with the EU. Here at ANF we talk to dealers all the time, at fairs or on road trips meeting clients, and we know how hard they work. Gruelling travel, humping furniture, finding time for social media and looking after clients and relying on their own eye to buy the right thing that will sell so they can actually get paid that month! We say congratulations to them all but there could only be one winner and that was the 3rd generation family business of King George Antiques which is run by Gary Doynton and brother Alfie Doynton. The ANF prize is a complimentary ANF Newsletter Takeover, value £425. ANF will send information about King George Antiques to our vast data base of both private and trade subscribers from UK, EU and USA. They will also have an editorial feature and social media to promote their win. Congratulations also go to our shortlist of 10 dealers exhibiting at Henley, with a special mention to Dave at Stag and Squire who has been involved in a nasty traffic accident and will be unable to attend but will send his positive good wishes to everyone from his hospital bed! Shortlist for Dealer of the Year Chapter Two/Thrifty Gent French Loft John Wiseman/Mark Taylor King George Antiques Merchant Stores Not Wanted on Voyage Paul Everett Antiques Smith & Moon Street Marburg 3 Details For more information on any of these dealers please see Henley Decor Fair Exhibitors April 23
