ABOUT THIS FAIR:

The Stonyhurst College Antiques & Fine Art Fair 21-23 February 2020 now in its 25th year, promises an exciting collection of antiques, furniture, silver, porcelain, glass, clocks, oriental rugs, antiquarian maps, jewellery, vintage and decorative items, antique and contemporary fine art and bronze sculptures from 17th century to the contemporary style for visitors seeking the opportunity to furnish their homes with originality in a relaxed, friendly environment where dealers will be happy to share their knowledge. Prices range from £25 to £25000.

The venue lends itself well to this type of event. Set in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley, Stonyhurst College really is a spectacular estate, now owned by the Society of Jesus as a new home for their college, a leading independent boarding schoool, Stonyhurst College. The popular event set in the beautiful estate attracts visitors from Lancashire, Cumbria, North Yorkshire and the Lakes.

Mark Buckley Antiques - This is a Kingswood Cross-banded Edwardian Mahogany fitted vanity box by Maple & Co for sale at £2295. The lockable lid reveals a fully fitted silk-lined interior, having the original Maple and Co plaque and serial number.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

Among the 30 or so dealers will be local dealers Lancaster House Antiques specialising in clocks and furniture, traditional and Contemporary art dealers include Ruth Hudson, Plumb’s Fine Art and J C Fine Art. Some of the other regulars are Scarab Antiques with their alluring collection of jewels and watches and collectible glass. Period oak dealers Melody Antiques of Chester, inlaid Edwardian furniture dealer Mark Buckley from Skipton, antiquarian map dealer J. Dickinson of Derbyshire and Malcolm Eglin Antiques of Northumberland who deals in quality period furniture and decorative home furnishings.

Silver dealers are Highland Antiques, Martin’s Silver and Jack Shaw & Co. Specialist glass dealers selling amazing pieces af Art Deco and Art Nouveau glass and bronze sculpture are Solo Antiques of Lancashire and newcomers La Boheme who specialise in Czech Decorative glass. Another newcomer to the fair is Scottish and Scandinavian Designs who sell 20th century design, Scandinavian and Scottish items including Leastein and George Jenson  with a strong emphasis on silver enamel items.
