Sue Ede of Cooper Events

Sue Ede of Cooper Events told ANF that she was delighted to add this long standing and respected event to the Cooper Events portfolio which includes Harrogate, Cotswolds and Buxton.  The company also own the famous Bath Decorative Antique Fair, also 30 years old, Bruton Decorative Antiques Fair and The Shepton Flea and Matford Exeter Antiques Fair.

Sue continued: “Caroline Penman and I are long standing friends and colleagues and when she approached us earlier this year to discuss the future of Chester, we both decided the fair would be a good addition to the Cooper Events portfolio and that a fresh pair of hands would be the right move at this time.  We are very excited to work at this splendid venue and with an experienced and talented roster of exhibitors.”

Caroline added: “In my experienced view, Chester has been screaming for a refresh for a while and after 30 years and at the age of 75 I am not ready to try and reinvent the wheel although I very much intend to continue organising fairs.  We have had some superb events at Chester and worked with some of the best dealers in the industry and I am delighted to hand over to Sue who knows them all as well as I do.  Penman Fairs will continue to work with Ben Cooper and Stephanie Castell at Two Cs Antique Fairs who acquired Burford last year.  Petersfield and Chelsea will remain in the Penman fold and we will announce details of both fairs shortly.  I would like to wish Sue and her team good luck and success at Chester.”
