Solo Antiques - An amazing French Art Deco bronze dancer by Josef Gauthier for sale at £2295. A finely detailed figure of a semi naked beauty standing on one leg in a very striking pose whilst holding flowers. This well sculpted silvered bronze stands on top of a rouge griotte marble base and is signed Gauthier under one foot.

ABOUT THIS FAIR:

After 25 years, Scone Palace Antiques & Fine Art Fair, 13-15 March 2020, taking place twice a year, remains the most established event in Scotland’s antiques fairs calendar attracting visitors from all over Scotland and England. Held in the main state rooms of Scone Palace the event has built up many loyal followers including collectors and interior designers all looking for unique and one of a kind pieces not found on the High Street: traditional antique furniture, ceramics, jewellery, silver, paintings, glass, bronze sculpture, oriental antiques,  clocks and watches, antiquarian maps & prints and many decorative items. Prices to so suit all pockets from £25 - £30,000 plus.

The majority of regular Scottish dealers will be returning including silver dealer Highland Antiques of Aberdeen. Furniture dealers; Cathedral Antiques of Fortrose. Local furniture dealers Carse Antiques and Julia Drinkhall will have a selection of country house antiques and decorative items and John A W Briggs from Stone haven will have a colourful selection of Oriental rugs and carpets.

Highland Antiques - A rare silver and agate brooch made in Scotland around 1860. It has 48 hand cut specimens of agate set in beautifully engraved silver. Priced at £595.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:
Dealers from further afield are regulars Scarab Antiques, London, with a scintillating mix of period and vintage designer jeweller and bespoke pieces designed by owner Alan Poultney, vintage watches and the Decorative Arts from known designers.  Fu Tsang Lung from Yorkshire with a selection of Oriental Antiques. Furniture dealers Mark Buckley Antiques of Skipton and J C Antiques of West Yorkshire, Malcolm Eglin Antiques and Jane Kirsopp Reed Antiques both from Northumberland.  Art dealers joining Galloway’s are Rowles Fine Art from Shropshire, Fettes Fine Art from Edinburgh, Graham Reed Fine Art from Yorkshire and Plumb’s Fine Art from Shropshire together with Keith Ellis Fine Art and Ruth Hudson Fine Art from Yorkshire. Specialist porcelain dealers will include Bottlebrook Antiques of Derbyshire and glass dealers Solo Antiques from Lancashire. Antique and vintage watches by Ian Walsh of Lancashire, and Antique Karen

Scone Palace is located just a few miles on the outskirts of Perth on A93. It has ample car parking and a wonderful tearoom offering a wide selection of hot and cold meals. Admission to the fair will be £6.00 and will be open from 10.30am – 5.00pm daily (4.30pm finish Sunday only).  Visitors to the fair are also welcome to walk around the beautiful grounds of the Palace which include The Pinetum, The Murray Star Maze and of course Moot Hill where the Stone of Scone proudly sits, once the crowning place of Scottish Kings including Macbeth, Robert The Bruce and Charles 11. Galloway Antiques Fairs will be raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Art of the Imagination - Art of the Imagination from Wiltshire are bringing along a deluxe limited-edition book, Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. First published in 1883, the adventure novel immediately captured the imaginations of young Boys and girls when the enigmatic Billy Bones finds his way to the Admiral Benbow Inn with a large chest. Jim Hawkins is instructed to let him know if ‘the seafaring man with one leg comes along….. Brought to life by award winning Spanish artist Angel Dominguez, who visualises this story with a rather charming twist to the tale. Who else has thought to depict pirates as a band of salty dogs and other creatures? There will only be 100 deluxe editions published.

Antique Karen - An extraordinary 18th Century Basket pocket watch in 18carat gold. This extremely rare watch features a beautifully made gold basket with a portrait to the top. When lifted, the lid reveals a small French verge watch and a small memento compartment in the base for a lock of hair or other keepsake. The watch was made circa 1780 and will cost £5995.
