The Winter Art & Antiques Fair 5-10 November 2019, comes to Olympia London next month, with a impressive array of complimentary talks and tours offering insight and advice from leading industry experts. 

Topics for visitors to choose from include:

Investing in the Decorative, Rachel Laxter from BIID, (British Institute of Interior Design). Rachel will be speaking on Friday 8th November at 2pm.

Judith Miller

40 Years on How the World has Changed, BBC Antiques Roadshow Expert Judith Miller. We are witnessing fascinating times in the world of antiques. Industry expert, author and TV presenter, Judith Miller looks back over 40 years of producing antiques guides and discusses trends and exciting developments in the marketplace. 

Judith will be speaking on Saturday 9th November at 2pm and giving a tour of the Fair on Saturday.

Sound in Painting, writer and art historian Huon Mallalieu.

According to Carlo Carrà the Futurist painter and art teacher: "Before the 19th century, painting was the art of silence... painters never envisaged the possibility of rendering sounds, noises and smells in painting". Art, antiques and collecting historian, Huon Mallalieu believes this to be nonsense, and that our enjoyment is much increased when we learn to listen to paintings as well as look at them.  As author of The Dictionary of British Watercolour Artist and Understanding Watercolours, he will be discussing this in detail on Wednesday 6th November at 2pm, in collaboration with Country Life.

In addition to the talks, antiques expert Judith Miller and art consultant Vanessa Curry will be taking small tours around the fair to point out and discuss highlights for visitors keen to broaden their knowledge.  Judith’s is at 4pm on Saturday and Vanessa’s will be on Thursday at 4pm and 6pm.

The final important art and antiques fair of the London autumn season, The Winter Art & Antiques Fair appeals to art collectors, interior designers, antiques enthusiasts, collectors and anyone looking for that ‘one of a kind’ piece.

Taking place on the Gallery Level of the National Hall, at the same time as The Spirit of Christmas Fair and for 2019 the Luxury Travel Fair, the fusion format of combining major attractions under one roof proved to a big success in November 2018 attracting thousands of visitors from the UK and beyond.

Capitalising on the central London location, the 70 premier dealers from across the UK use the fair as an opportunity to unveil their rarest and most recent finds to an enthusiastic audience of more than 20,000.
