Festival of Antiques at Peterborough to finish due to redevelopment of showground

Antiques News & Fairs - Festival of Antiques at Peterborough to finish due to redevelopment of showground

iacf Ltd has issued the following statement regarding their very popular Peterborough Festival of Antiques event:

We are really sad and disappointed to have to share with you that unfortunately the April Festival of Antiques at Peterborough’s East of England Showground will be our last at Peterborough.

We’ve been informed by the Showground that the house building programme has moved forward, meaning that from July 2023, events at the venue won’t be possible. We regretfully must cancel our September fair and we will no longer be able to use the venue for the iacf Festival of Antiques.

Will Thomas, iacf Managing Director said, “I am really disappointed that iacf can’t continue to hold the Festival of Antiques at Peterborough, this is a fantastic event in a great location. It’s a real shame for us at iacf and I am sorry too for the people of Peterborough and surrounding areas to be losing the showground which is such a big part of their community and identity.”

Mr Thomas continued "We hope to see all our loyal visitors at our Newark Antiques & Collectors Fair that takes place six times a year and is just a short trip up the A1”.

As the 7 & 8 April is to be our last Festival of Antiques at the East of England Showground, we plan to go out on a high! We will be putting extra resources into the marketing and promotion of the event to make it the best yet. We look forward to seeing you there.

Whilst we’re incredibly sad that Peterborough Festival of Antiques is coming to an end and we recognise that it’s a big loss from our calendar of fantastic UK antiques fairs, we must remind you that Newark is only an hour up the A1 from Peterborough and likewise Ardingly is only 2 hours south. It would be lovely to see our Peterborough friends at either of these great events. Also, make sure you watch this space for exciting updates on a new fair at a new venue, as soon as we can share more information on this we will!

Kind regards
iacf team
