Battersea Autumn Fair - Another Covid Casualty

As the pandemic continues to cause chaos and carnage across our fairs industry, the announcement from the Government this week, on 22 September, that indoor exhibitions and events will not be allowed to take place from 1 October possibly for the next 6 months, which is not what was originally hoped, has put pay to one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year, the Autumn Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair due to take place 22-26 October.

Harvey Management issued the following statement today:

It is with the utmost disappointment we announce that the Autumn Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair 2020 has to be cancelled. For months we have worked tirelessly to plan a safe and positive environment in which to hold the Fair. After Tuesday’s government announcements, the team has investigated every possible avenue to remain on track. However today, further local developments in the London region have meant that for the safety of exhibitors, staff and visitors, it has become untenable to proceed.

The team has done everything in its power to create exciting added sales opportunities at the Autumn Fair, and we will be looking ahead to find ways these can work in everyone’s favour in the future.

We remain unbowed, and anticipate with optimism the return of The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair next year.

With kindest regards,

Jane, Darren and The Decorative Fair Team

Editors note: We wish Jane and the team and all the exhibitors good luck for the next edition of this very special event which we all hope will be in January 2021.
