Our aim is to establish worldwide contacts between private and trade buyers and sellers by acting as a portal site for respected antique dealers and event organisers and by publishing frequently up-dated news and feature content and a top ranked Antiques Fairs Calendar.

Antiques News and Fairs originated in 1997, when the independent antiques dealers' newspaper, Antiques & Art Independent was published for the first time and went on to publish over half a million copies.  It was published on the internet a few months later when in 1998, Antiques & Art Independent linked up with an American antiques newspaper and established an internet edition to promote the British antiques trade on both sides of the Atlantic. 

In  2001 Antiques & Art Independent converted to internet only publication with the domain name www.antiquesnews.co.uk

Following ten successful years Antiques News was acquired by a new publisher and was re-launched it in October 2008 under the name of Antiques News and Fairs reflecting the popularity of the Fairs Calendar on the site.

Antiques News and Fairs appears on the websites of leading antiques media in America, Australia, and Continental Europe and these publications can also be viewed from links at the bottom of each page on Antiques News and Fairs which continues to be known overseas as Antiques & Art Independent

Antiques News and Fairs co-ordinates National Antiques Week on behalf of the antiques trade working with a high profile team of media specialists.
