WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:
Duncombe Park is one of Yorkshire's foremost historic houses and estates, and home to The Duncombe Family. The original house was built in 1713 for Thomas Duncombe, and following a fire in 1879, the first Earl of Feversham remodelled the interiors. Following the death of the second Earl of Feversham at The Battle of The Somme in 1916, Duncombe Park was leased as a girl’s school, but was returned to a loving family home in 1985 when it was lovingly restored and refurbished.

It is set in 300 acres of dramatic parkland just 3 minutes from the beautiful village of Helmsley which has a wonderful range of stylish shops, hotels, pubs and delicatessens.

The fair will be set out in the servants’ quarters downstairs and visitors will have the unique opportunity to head upstairs to the main state rooms and continue up to the second floor and look around the bedrooms.  The house is no longer open to the public so a visit to this Galloway's event offers a very special opportunity to visit the fair, the entire house and then, weather permitting, explore the beautiful gardens.
