ABOUT THIS FAIR:

Sunday 25th February 2018 will see the sixth outing of the Glass Fair at Knebworth. More than 70 dealers will converge at this truly specialist event held in the Knebworth House Barns complex.

The fair brings together all types and ages of antique and contemporary glass and also includes a number of contemporary glass artists showing their own work. The lively gathering, which attracts a long queue of enthusiasts, is a celebration the fascinating medium of glass in all its applications which have been exploited over thousands of years by the artisans who have chosen to work with this material and discover its possibilities.

Exhibitors will be very happy to talk to visitors and answer any questions they might have about items on sale and glass expert and television personality Andy McConnell will be at the fair to chat to visitors about their glass.

From sculptural abstract forms and statement pieces to delicate ornamental items, contemporary artists from every discipline will be showcase their wares. Glassblowers, kilnformers, cast glass artists, engravers, jewellery makers and more will be taking the stage, offering visitors a wide variety of exciting and unique items to fit their price bracket, whether large or small.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

There will be a glassblowing demonstration by E+M Glass and a special exhibition in Hall 1 and 'Cloudy Powell' will be the subject this time.  The exhibition is being loaned mainly by Graham Hudson, a specialist dealer in Whitefriars glass who is also a regular exhibitor at the glass fairs.

The Glass Fair organisers work hard to continually improve the visitors’ experience. The event was the first one-day fair to introduce regular exhibitions presenting both loan collections and previously overlooked areas of glass to our visitors.Originally founded in collaboration with respected collector and glass expert Dr Graham Cooley, this fair offers the ideal opportunity to find both antique glass and contemporary studio work: glass from all eras and to suit all tastes. If your preference is for Georgian drinking glasses you will find many knowledgeable specialists, if you are interested in the Art Deco and Art Nouveau periods you will be amply catered for by several quality exhibitors and if you lean toward modernist collectables and art glass you will be spoilt for choice.
