ABOUT THIS FAIR:

Galloway Antiques Fairs open their year at The Majestic Hotel in Harrogate over the weekend of 4-6 January 2019. Readers will already know of Galloway Fairs having maybe attended some of their other events in the area, Duncombe Park and The Bowes Museum to name a few.

Some 40 dealers from across the country will be selling a wide range of antiques and fine art to include town and country furniture, silver, porcelain, jewellery, oriental rugs, English, continental and oriental porcelain, clocks, mirrors, antique and contemporary fine art and bronze sculpture and many decorative items to furnish any home with style.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:
Regular exhibitors with Galloway at the Majestic Hotel include silver dealers Jack Shaw & Co of Ilkley and Highland Antiques from Aberdeen, porcelain will be represented by Bryan Bowden, John Newton, David Scriven and Valerie Main Ltd. Jewellery dealers will include Billy Rae, Scarab Antiques and Saul Greenstein. Furniture dealers include Lancaster House Antiques, Mark Buckley Antiques, Melody Antiques, and Keith Ellis Antiques and picture dealers include J C Fine Art and Ruth Hudson Fine Art, Coppergate Gallery and Graham Reed Fine Art. General dealers are Jane Kirsopp Reed, Angela Close and The Calvie Gallery.

There will be 4 new dealers joining Galloways this time round; Chester’s Farm Antiques of Nottingham who specialise in antiques from 19th to early 20th century including ceramics, pictures, silver and other decorative arts. Greg Turnbull from Staffordshire sells antiques and vintage jewellery along with vintage handbags for the ladies and sporting memorabilia for the gentlemen. Martin’s Silver who specialises in silver form 18th–20th century.

Other areas of speciality will include Antiquarian books offered by Yorkshire dealer Nicholas Daly, Oriental Rugs by John Briggs from Aberdeen and antiquarian maps & prints will be available from J. Dickinson of Derbyshire.
