ABOUT THIS FAIR:

The National Glass Fair, is the twice yearly flagship event at the prestigious venue of the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull for the well named Specialist Glass Fair company.

The event is eagerly awaited by the glass-collecting fraternity because of the wide variety and quality of the glass offered for sale which attracts glass aficionados and collectors from across the trade and public domains and the organisers always offer a unqiue exhibition to complement the eye popping glass displays.

Organiser Paul Bishop of Specialist Glass Fairs told ANF: "A specialist event like this is a great opportunity for enthusiasts to meet other like-minded individuals and to browse the spectacular array of exciting pieces on sale, plus there is always the possibility of finding a bargain - or haggling your way to one!

Exhibitors are drawn from across the UK and Europe always bring their very best stock to this event, so it really is a fascinating experience to visit one of these fairs and, if it is your first time, we can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

We strive to offer a good mix of both antique, collectable and contemporary pieces as we believe it is important that as many genres of glass as possible are represented in all of their diverse and fascinating forms. The malleability of glass allows for limitless creativity, and artists and artisans through the years have produced a wide variety of items from the practical to the purely decorative, from jewellery to paperweights, and figurines to exquisite drinking vessels."

Around 80 specialist exhibitors will stand together with industry experts in all types and periods of glass.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

Contemporary studio glass is a big collecting area and is well represented at the fair by a number of glass artists using various techniques such as graal, cameo engraving and blown work, and there will be some new faces joining regular old friends at this event.

An impressive group of C20th glass dealers will be vying for attention among the aisles of exhibitors dealing in antique and collectable glass, including Georgian, Victorian, Art Nouveau or Art Deco, ranging across the two large halls.

Chance handkerchief vases will be the keynote exhibition in Hall 1
