Carnes Fine Art - A superb large oil painting by William  Mellor of Derwentwater, Cumbria, signed and dated c1900.

Lancaster House Antiques - An eight-day long case clock with brass dial having a painted scene of a church beside a stone pyramid building. The chapter ring is signed J Barber Winster. The movement is numbered 437 which dates the clock to 1758. It is very similar to the clock that appears on the front cover of ‘Jonas Barber of Winster’, a book by B. W. Cave-Brown, a copy of which will accompany this clock. Priced at £6550.

Galloway Fairs have been scouting for new venues and have really excelled themselves by acquiring Holker Hall in Lancashire where they will be the first organiser to host an event there for 25 years when the Holker Hall Antiques & Fine Art Fair takes place from 16-18 March 2018.

Dating back to the early 1600’s, Holker Hall has been home to the Preston, Lowther and Cavendish families. Holker Hall is currently the home of the Lucy Cavendish and her husband Tor Mc Laren who welcome visitors of all ages to one of the best-loved stately homes in Britain.  Magnificently situated only a short distance from Grange-over-Sands and the expanse of Morecambe Bay. Holker Hall is set in exceptionally beautiful countryside with gardens that merge into Parkland framed by the Lakeland Hills.

Scarab Antiques - A fabulous set of 6 liqueur glasses by Rene Lalique.

These were introduced in 1924 and were known as “Barr”, the round foot supports a flat stem in the middle of which is a frosted woman’s head beneath a tulip shaped bowl. The underside of the foot is signed R. Lalique. Priced at £1100.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:
Antiques worth millions of pounds will be offered for sale by some of the country’s leading dealers. With stands set out on the ground floor of the house, visitors can expect to find a great selection of silver, porcelain, town and country furniture, oriental rugs, jewellery, antiquarian maps, clocks and mirrors. There will also be antique and contemporary paintings and bronze sculpture, Art Nouveau and Art Deco glass and many decorative items to furnish any home with style and originality. Prices range form £20 - £20,000.

The Courtyard Café provides the perfect setting for everything from morning coffee to an alfresco lunch or snack. There is ample free car parking  also for visitors to the fair who may also like to take time to look around the award winning gardens.

Highland Antiques of Aberdeen - A lovely three piece set of silver owl condiments, made by William Comys of London in 1968. The mustard spoon has a mouse on the terminal. Priced at £1950.
