ABOUT THIS FAIR:

The Petersfield Antiques Fair is a premier event of its kind in Hampshire, drawing collectors from across the south of England, and offering plenty for people shopping for items for their homes. There will be 39 exhibitors in total, many of them LAPADA members. The emphasis in collecting has changed to acquiring a cohesive look or period style, so dealers have sought to provide complete suites of furniture and accessories in a variety of styles. With antiques becoming more affordable, the fair is also popular with younger buyers who appreciate the inherent quality of period pieces and feel confident that they are making a sound investment.

Thomas Glover - A fine emerald & diamond ring with a locket back, circa 1810. Price in the region of £4,000-5,000.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

Furniture dealers Wilson’s of Worthing will be creating a period room setting, complete with C18th and C19th century tables, chairs, desks, mirrors, dressers and bookcases. They will be joined by other furniture specialists, such as Melody Antiques, Cantelo and Sue Killinger, with pieces spanning the C17th to early C20th.

The fair will also feature a wide range of original art. Baron Fine Art, Graham Bentley Fine Watercolours and Art of Imagination will be displaying everything from oils, watercolours and figure studies through to dramatic artworks for new versions of classic books and plays.

English, European and Asian ceramics will be represented by specialists such as Roger de Ville, Jupiter Antiques, Corrinne Soffe and Drove House.

Valentines Day is shortly after the fair, so jewellery is always popular. Specialists such as Plaza, Shapiro & Co, Howells, Thomas Glover and T. Robert will be in residence.
