ABOUT THIS FAIR:

The second London Art Antiques & Interiors Fair will take place at ExCeL London from 12 - 14 January 2018. The lofty contemporary space proved to be a big hit with exhibitors and a broad range of visitors including collectors, interior designer and home-stylists at the first event in 2017 and returning exhibitors will be showing a similar range of C20th designer pieces, fine and contemporary art, classic antiques and decorative accessories.

Among the new exhibitors at the 2018 fair exemplifying the strong interest in 20th century design will be Danish Homestore from Nottingham. Leading Danish furniture and lighting designers such as Paul Jensen, Niels Moller, Hans Wegner and Arne Vodder will feature with a selection of dining chairs, sofas, tables and occasional pieces.

Exhibitors include M.& D. Moir, showing British and European art glass; Titus Omega, fine silver; Lynways, specialising in 20th century and contemporary Scandinavian studio pottery, glass and enamels; Andrew Muir with British and European ceramics and glass; Scandinavian by Design, showing post-war Scandinavian designer furniture; and Marion David with silver, clocks, mirrors and accessories.

Fine Art dealers at the fair include Aquila Fine Art with Modern British and European paintings; The Hunt Gallery, with original works by Michael Hunt; ArtDog with contemporary works; and Art of the Imagination, who specialise in contemporary illustrative works, fine limited edition books and classic twentieth century illustrations.

Pottery and porcelain will be shown by exhibitors including Philip Carrol with British and European pieces from most major factories; and Jerry Holmes & Doreen Faulks specialising in 18th, 19th & 20th century English, Welsh, Continental and Oriental porcelain and pottery.

Jewellery exhibitors include Plaza, who specialise in vintage and contemporary signed pieces of jewellery including Cartier, Chopard, Boucheron and Tiffany, Scarab Antiques with fine designer jewellery, silver and costume jewellery, vintage watches, studio/art glass, silverware and collectables and Greg Turnbull Antiques, specialising in Victorian and Wedgwood jewellery and accessories including vintage handbags.

 

Returning exhibitor Andrew Muir who specialises in the Decorative Arts told ANF: "I’m looking forward once again to meeting new and regular clients not only from across London and the UK, but the USA and the Middle East. It promises to be a smartly presented fair at a modern venue and with all the facilities visitors should expect."

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

Events and talks promise to be a strong feature of this second edition of the Art Antiques & Interiors Fair at London ExCel with The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) presenting daily talks to inspire and educate.

Maurice Collins, the well-known collector and author of several books on unusual collector’s pieces and bizarre inventions, will be showing his unique collection of original World War One posters. The display is titled ‘Poster Persuaders from WWI’, and will feature around fifty memorable posters that demonstrate the powerful and important role they played in persuading young men to sign-up for the forces.

Leading TV experts and antiques celebrities Judith Miller and Mark Hill will be providing daily talks for visitors, offering top tips on collecting. Judith began collecting in the 1960s while a student at Edinburgh University. She has since become one of the world’s leading experts in antiques and known worldwide for the Millers Guide books. She is a regular specialist on TV, notably on BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.

Mark Hill is a dealer in 20th century glass, publisher of specialist books on collecting, TV antiques expert on the BBC Antiques Roadshow and other programmes. Said Mark: "I’m delighted to be part of this exciting London fair with its wide variety of high quality pieces all under one roof.”

Toma will engage with visitors to offer her first-hand advice on collecting and stories from her years of travelling to shops and markets across the globe buying antiques for international clients.

Toma will then change hats to cut the ribbon for the launch of the Scarab Antiques - TCH Lush Decadence Couture Jewellery by Toma Clark Haines.  Sue and Alan Poultney of Scarab Antiques are the UK agents for this exciting new TCH brand and have chosen the Art Antiques & Interiors Fair to launch the range.
