CUMBRIAN ANTIQUES & FINE ART FAIR
Galloway Fairs return to familiar turf for their new event at Carlisle Racecourse from 27-28 May 2016 The Cumbrian Antiques & Fine Art Fair. They are already known in the area from when the organised a fair at nearby Naworth.
Malcolm Eglin Antiques - An extremely rare 15th century oak coffer with linenfold panels will be available from Malcolm Eglin Antiques for £5950.
Malcolm Elgin told ANF: "A very rare early oak late 15th c. or early 16th c. coffer in great condition with wonderful colour and patina. Made sometime during the reigns of five Monarchs, Edward 1V, Edward V, Richard 111, Henry V11 and Henry V111. It has linenfold panels to the front and sides of the coffer and a handsome lock and hasp. A piece for the connoisseur."
The new event has some 30 dealers from town and country furniture, silver and porcelain, antique and vintage jewellery, antique and contemporary paintings, antiquarian maps & prints, clocks, oriental rugs and many decorative items for the home, cottage to castle.
Regular Galloway exhibitors include jewellery dealers Billy Rae from Aberdeen and Scarab Antiques of London, silver dealers Highland Antiques from Aberdeen. Making a debut will be country furniture dealers Malcolm Eglin Antiques and award winning contemporary painter Janet Kenyon.
Scarab Antiques - A superb lidded bowl, made in the Art Deco period at Limoges by Jules Sarlandie, it is made of enamel on white metal. Priced at £445
