BRUTON DECORATIVE ANTIQUES FAIR
To the uninitiated Bruton might be seen as a sleepy Somerset town and it was exactly that until a couple of years ago when Hauser & Wirth, a leading player on the world stage of Modern Art, decided to open their UK HQ there, instantly lighting a media fire under this untouched corner of leafy Somerset and drawing an influx of City money second home owners and celebrities to the area.

It was around this time that Sue & Peter Ede had decided to give in to pressure from exhibitors at their hugely successful Bath Decorative Antiques Fair, and start looking seriously for a venue to hold a second decorative fair in the West of England and they found the perfect site - the £6million extension to The Haynes International Motor Museum, with its luxury interior and extraordinary raspberry red futuristic facade, just outside Bruton which is where The Bruton Decorative Antiques Fair makes its debut from 14-16 October 2016.

Scandinavian by Design - This is an original model 35 Bookcase or Storage Unit designed by Gunni Omann in the 1960’s. It is made from Rosewood and has significant amount of storage space within. £1200

A number of dealers from the Bruton area are joining the fair including The Factory in Castle Cary home to seven leading dealers from the decorative trade founded by David Tupman Antiques. Sharing the beautiful former dairy house factory in Castle Cary are Brighton dealer Jill Palmer, Pimlico dealer Christopher Butterworth, London dealer Derek Greengrass and Ashburton, Devon dealer Roger Organ. Together, they will be exhibiting an eclectic mix of decorative antiques for the home and garden.

Alchemy from Bruton will also be on board with French and English upholstery, dining tables and chairs, C20th century glass tables, beautiful English and European mirrors, textiles, and a selection of contemporary art and sculpture, Quillon House Antiques with fine country furniture and accessories, Elizabeth Lee Interiors with French and English decorative antiques for the home and garden, The Jerram Gallery, British Contemporary pictures and sculptures and Neptune Fine Art with sculpture and some exciting and very suitable for the venue, rare acquisitions from the world of Formula 1 Racing including the race worn uniform Michael Schumacher wore in the Grand Prix 2005.

There will also be a debut exhibition from photographer Lorna Noble whose collection of black and white images range across a contemporary architectural and metallic studies through to studies of orchids in an organic Georgia O’Keefe style.
