Autumn Updates from IACF Ltd Sandown Park, Alexandra Palace, Ardingly, Shepton Mallet

International Antiques & Collectors Fairs (IACF) is sharing a mixture of sad news and exciting news for this Autumn.

Antiques News & Fairs - Autumn Updates from IACF

IACF have regretfully announced the cancellation of their Sandown Park Antiques Market after the October 2017 edition has taken place. Unfortunately, lack of assurances from the venue on IACF's long-term programme, and a restriction on outside space and parking, meaning opportunities for expansion are limited.

The staff would like to thank their loyal stallholders who have exhibited over recent months, and to the regular buyers and members of the public who have attended and contributed to the fair.

The nearest IACF-run antiques fair will now be held at Alexandra Palace and Ardingly (Sound of England Showground).

This quote comes from Will Thomas, managing director of IACF:

You may have noticed that our 2018 calendar is now available to download on our website, and while we have decided to cancel our Sandown Market, due to the limitations set on its expansion by the venue, we have increased our number of Runway and Newbury Fairs. The one-day Runway fair at Newark is proving a 'runaway' success and is fast becoming one of the UK's favourite trade markets, and we are now introducing a similar one-day Monday Fair at Newbury in April and May. We have also moved the two-day fair from Fri & Sat to Sat & Sun, as we consider it to be predominantly a public buyers fair, with some professional trading still taking place on the Saturday morning.

IACF have also announced that there will be a new free appraisal table at Shepton Mallet Antiques Fair, which is held five times per year at the Bath & West Showground.  Considered the West Country's largest antiques & collectors fair, with a more laid-back atmosphere than most fairs, it offers a broad selection of antique, vintage, salvage and collectable items.

Commencing with the November edition of the fair (10 - 12 November 2017), resident expert John Tossel will be holding free appraisals, adjacent to the organisers office in the Showering Pavillion. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of virtually every field of antique collecting, and will take a welcome look at antiques visitors have brought from home or even picked up on the showground. He is bound to provide some interesting details and stories in every case, or point visitors in the direction of someone who can tell them even more.
